The company was established in 1988 to manage the Consistent Unit Trust. In 2003, the company took on the management of another well-established unit trust, Practical Investment Fund.
Change of Control
The company was a subsidiary of London & St Lawrence Investment Company plc.
As a result of the Scheme of Re-organisation entered into by London & St Lawrence in April 2017, Consistent Unit Trust Management Company Limited has now been sold by London & St Lawrence to a consortium of shareholders, the majority shareholder being the Ashfield Family Trusts. This change of control has been approved by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Consistent Opportunities Unit Trust
This fund was established as a unit trust in 1988, having originally been launched as the Ambrose Investment Trust in 1922.
The aim of this fund is to provide consistent long-term capital and income growth. Investments will be made in companies which have proved their worth over the years, have a consistent record of growth and have good prospects for continued growth in the future.
Practical Investment Fund
This fund is one of the longest-established unit trusts in existence, having been launched in 1941.
The aim of this fund is to provide investors with above average capital growth and increasing real income through investing in a wide spread of investment companies and other securities.
